The Malaysian Education Development Plan (PT) 2015-2025 is a document that translates the direction of the Public University (UA) which emphasizes the development of human capital and community well-being to support and achieve the country's aspiration to be prosperous and competitive. The Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) became a global agenda when the United Nations (UN) introduced 17 goals to be achieved by all countries by 2030. Accordingly, universities play a major role in helping countries achieve SDGs for community sustainability through the implementation of knowledge transfer and university expertise will help achieve SDG targets
Therefore, to generate human capital development and community well-being, the University For Society (U4S) Community Grant Allocation is designed to encourage the transfer of knowledge generated in the UA to community targets for the purpose of expanding and strengthening translatable public knowledge such as:
U4S is able to support a variety of activities to support mutually beneficial cooperation between universities and communities (including government and private agencies).
U4S is able to provide expertise, learning, and skills from UA indirectly impacting society in the form of changes in knowledge (knowledge), attitudes, skills, and aspirations.
