INTRODUCTION

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Industry and Community Relations (JINM) is an entity under Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) which is responsible for driving the university community program based on UPM's 3rd University Goal which is to Boost Industry and Community Relations Services.

The University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC) as an entity under JINM has been entrusted to plan and implement knowledge transfer and extension activities. To achieve these goals, UCTC plays a role in the success of community programs through knowledge transfer and extension through "Community JINM @ KKM Grant".

"Community JINM @ KKM Grant" is an allocation given for successful projects using a grant allocation from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH). The grant paperwork must have an element of knowledge transfer; the Quadruple Helix engagement model (university-government-industry-community); and intervention to the community in dealing with stunting issues among children in Malaysia.

This is one of the sources of funds that can be applied by academicians at UPM to succeed in knowledge transfer activities. UCTC serves as the secretariat to streamline the selection process and administer periodic reporting and the purpose of this grant scheme is to provide space for UPM's academicians imparting and transferring knowledge from their research to the target community.
